Sony announced that in 2014 they would be going to the cloud services to deal with the backwards compatibility issue. The new program will be Gaikai's new cloud services, and it will not be a full backwards compatible system but allow a limited number of ps3 titles. However I can safely assume that the select ps3 games will be of high quality such as
the last of us, GTA V,etc.... I wonder how this will fair against Microsoft's new Xbox One and their cloud services because truth of the matter is that they started the cloud use in console gaming. Also they have the new dedicated servers which will work solely on the cloud servers. Sony bought Gaikai services for $380 million last summer. They will be used to instant game streaming , instant demos where you play as it downloads and also allowing friends to remote control play your game for you. This is a beginning to future console enhancements.
